#10b Sicilian Sestet

Sicilian Sestet

Possessing similar origins, as the Italian Sestet, the Sicilian sestet had no set meter, but the anglicised version uses Iambic tetrameter or pentameter.

The rhyme pattern is as follows; a, b, a, b, a, b,

In my minds eye I see you everywhere
Each waking moment steals my time
In thoughts so different to what was there
Now so natural now to think that I'm
Thinking about someone for who I care
Someone to me who's become sublime.

Vanilla Roads

Over a rainbow there are brownies,
Latte, strawberry and cherry lanes,
Those dreamy whipped creamy paths,
Streets paved with golden honey
Drops from nectared combs of bee champagne
For you and I to explore all sixths.

Under the amytal skies is purer brie,
The camembert delights of other planes,
Other flavored ways of life or oaths
To bring us to plainer roads, and bonnie,
Fair as snows, bright as stars plains,
Simpler, kinder still than vermillion street truths.

Over a rainbow there are brownies,
Though vanilla roads be more cherished piths.

Liars Truth

Kept in Mine

An earthly son, she slew him quick-
there wasn’t time to wonder when
her eyes had lastly shown this trick;
the way her tears could apprehend
a smile that hung entrenched and sick,
a guttering candle love could mend.

She seeks the darkness corners hold-
the sounds of mewling gasps for air,
a sigh still shows where promise folds;
the night is clinging to the tear
that makes an empty pillow old,
that opens hearts and withers care.

The last of wicks approaches ends-
there isn’t time to ponder if
the doubts she’s harbored condescend;
to bind decisions day found rifts
in all the love she’d never spent,
to pray denial finds her swift.

I left her there, a fairytale-
the moment passed for hand-stitched rhymes
as time was whispering ‘dreams prevail’
and all my words were drowned sublime;
where once she glowed, she now is pale...
her tears and smiles are kept in mine.

Time Less

When autumn brings down her curtain of leaves
The grounds will be covered with colors bright
Thats when I'll stop to listen and retrieve
Those sweet memories from within falls light
Kicking the piles of leaves makes me believe
Age has no barrier to feel delight

Clay of life

Both you and I, are made of clay
Cast on the potters wheel of Fate.
Our hands mould this clay each day
Our deeds, good or bad are the weight.
Only truth, and likewise deeds are the pay
Politics and concession are illegal freight.

Fire the kiln and the clay will dry.
And look, what have you made, what use?
Are the cups you made a worthy supply
Or will they always leak and cause abuse?
Are they fit to paint and pleasing to the eye
I wonder, what will be your views.

-----

Perplexity

When I talk to you the words come easy
Yet inside the turmoil the excitement
Each syllable comes slipping out so freely.
Can my words cause you this torment?
My mind willing to speak so lovingly
Will you miss my love, my true intent?

-----

Presence in my mind

You have become a presence in my mind.
I do not like it, for no longer is it free
My thoughts once controlled and simple kind
Now wander off in space and back to thee
And the way our souls around each other wind.
Now thinking of things that could just be.

In my minds eye I see you everywhere
Each waking moment steals my time
In thoughts so different to what was there
Now so natural now to think that I’m
Thinking about someone for who I care
Someone to me who’s become sublime.

Soul Mates

Loving, sleeping sharing life’s rich plate
You and I are together as we should be.
Dream time together our senses sate
In the halls of waiting you and me
In spite of distance, you are my mate
Spending forever together in eternity.

-----

Would you

Would you turn back the hands of time
And live over again without mistakes,
To show to age a face without life’s grime
Unscarred, living a life that’s full of grace?
In returning to when in your youthful prime
Would you, most all your early events erase?

The scars we bear are souvenirs of a past
And the lessons learned, hopefully move on.
Greater heights of wealth or fame surpassed
Are they needed to help appreciate the dawn?
Rather they are millstones that cannot last
Then when faced with death, all is gone.

In Dreams of Fate

The Nights of October are lonely and cold
Who shall provide the warmth I desire this night?
Step into my dream world if you dare be so bold.
In spite of the distance, two souls will unite.
Together we’ll make-up for the times we lost hold.

Has it been a week, a day; a moment to long?
Pain’s and sorrow’s past, no longer for us to see.
Our soul’s to thrill with laughter, joy and our hearts song.
How long shall we dream our love is purified and pleased?
Shall we strip all clothing now, and do what we dreamt fore so long?
Given this time, starting fresh memories or is past the best we can be?

Let’s lie down on the comfort of this feather bed and create,
Whatever comes to mind on our rainbow love wishes.
If only we could stay in our made up dream;(sigh) so real and sedate...
We need not talk, we know all mind games and body languages.
Our souls now drift away, we where scrumptious, in dreams of fate.
Looking at the rain and lighting this night; it was only a dreamy love wish.
