2007 Form Challenges
#10 Ballade

The Ballade as its name suggests is a French form and along with the Rondeau was one of the first forms to be standardised in the 14th cetury. Written in syllabic prosody of any one line length, the original French forms were octosyllabic, but now decasyllable is more common, and iambic tetrameter etc; are just as acceptable.

The construction is 28 lines which are divided into three octave stanzas and an envoi.
The rhyme and pattern do not change. It turns around on only three rhymes.and as is common with most French forms. The last line of each stanza is a refrain. The Ballade has a rhyme pattern of: a, b, a, b, b, c, b, C and the envoy b, c, b, C.

Below is an excellent example of this form.

Carving

Your words carve nightmares in my skin, they bleed-
obscure the lines that burn and scourge within,
as deep into my flesh the etching feeds
in layers only I knew to be thin.
Is witnessing a branding also sin?
I feel the tissues sizzle and contract,
the bluntness of the knife is sinking in-
as violated nerve-ends now retract.

You cut with great precision at the weeds
your eyes detected underneath my skin;
I bowed my head in silence and agreed,
endured your efforts, keeping up my chin.
But now I'm tired, hurting, in a spin;
beside deep-rooted weeds I lost- I cracked
on seeing on your face an old chagrin,
as violated nerve-ends now retract.

The hand that wields the knife will not recede,
though hesitation finally begins
to waver and confuse in loss of speed;
the silence that enfolds- a roaring din.
Our faces slowly lose the deadly grin,
essential parts that kept me whole, intact,
regenerated by adrenalin-
as violated nerve-ends now retract.

We'll throw the offal left into the bin
and start to build anew; we'll re-enact,
retrace our steps, determined we will win,
as violated nerve-ends now retract.

Envelope Ballade

The Envelope Ballade is just as interesting a form as the basic Ballade. However, the Refrain begins and ends each stanza. The construction is similar with the rhyme pattern changing to: A, b, a, b, c, a, c A, and the envoy c, a, c A,

Here is an example of this form.

Essence

To taste your essence on my lips
I sense your spirit in the wind
I feel you still at my fingertips
And see you smiling in my mind.
Your trembles to my touch says so
Sensing strongly how your heart skips
Passioned clutch forbids me go
To taste your essence on my lips

To taste your essence on my lips
Each night with dusk I feel a kind
Of bond with you of honeyed sips
To all else I am truly blind
Unseeing yet all of you I know
I am the bee and honey drips
So sweet a special nest doth grow
To taste your essence on my lips

To taste your essence on my lips
My soul and body to unwind
And free all feeling of loving nips
My will to lock and mind to bind
Yet such passioned feelings grow
A love drug giving me such trips
But after leaving me aglow
To taste your essence on my lips

Where are you from I do not know
The heavenly dust of passion grips
The white hot heat of Heavens snow
To taste your essence on my lips

Escape from La Diablesse

He was known as the village Romeo
Flirting with every female that he met
The ladies still it seemed could not say no
Surrounding him at every dance and fete,
They just could not resist his charm, they let
Him have his way with them - oh happy days!
Though he swore he’d always be in their debt;
The time had come for him to change his ways.

And then one night after a late, late show,
He was walking back to his home, upset
There was no damsel on his arm, when lo!
He spied a female form ahead; he bet
Himself that she was lost; perhaps he’d ‘get
Lucky’ still he wagered, (to use a phrase),
Though it seemed he would have a good time yet;
The time had come for him to change his ways.

He approached her quickly and in sotto
Voce he greeted her, started a tête-
à-tête: and soon he was prepared to go
With her, until he lit a cigarette.
What he saw made him break out in a sweat-
Her yes like burning coals were now ablaze,
He felt that he was under serious threat.
The time had come for him to change his ways.

It seemed he’d become trapped in his own net
Almost captured by La Diablesse’s gaze
He broke into a run, now soaking wet
The time had come for him to change his ways.

Local Characters

Papa Bois is father of the forest,
Caretaker of the animals and trees
Be careful of how you behave there lest
You incur his wrath, for that is when he’s
A fearsome foe, and not one to displease.
A half man and half beast he is well known
To all the people of the West Indies:
These legendary tales are all home grown.

The Soucouyant’s an uninvited guest,
An evil crone who sheds her skin with ease,
And like a ball of fire starts her quest
For human blood; and neither locks nor keys
Can stop her, and nothing else will appease
Her. She cuts through the sky when light has flown,
And sucks her fill of blood, with expertise.
These legendary tales are all home grown.

The Douens are little spirits who weren’t blessed,
Sometimes you hear their voices as they tease,
Calling to others, little souls possessed;
But warn your children to ignore their pleas.
Far better stay inside for they will seize
Them; small blank faces that whimper and moan
Little back to front feet and knobbly knees.
These legendary tales are all home grown.

Like pollen that is carried on a breeze,
These narratives like seeds have been well sown,
They’ve travelled over land and over seas,
These legendary tales are all home grown.

Perfect Friend

He’s there His hand outstretched calling to you;
The answers which we seek all lie in Him,
He offers peace of mind, a love that’s true;
Although He may not grant our every whim,
He listens to us when we call His name,
And even when we ignore Him and do
Things as we want, which fail, He gets the blame.
He’s there His hand outstretched calling to you

He’s there His hand outstretched calling to you,
Our guiding Light when all the world seems dim,
And though we seldom give Him His just due
He’s the One who fills our cup to the brim;
We drink our fill, dismiss Him to our shame;
And His demands on us are really few,
He loves us and asks that we do the same.
He’s there His hand outstretched calling to you

He’s there His hand outstretched calling to you
When laughter’s fled and the future looks grim,
When we imagine that our life is through,
And that our only option, sink or swim
Is to find Him, to try and keep the flame
Of love alive in us as we subdue
Harsh feelings that may want to stake their claim.
He’s there His hand outstretched calling to you

No fickle friend is He, no passing game,
He’s The Friend amongst all friends in my view;
Our happiness His main focus, His aim
He’s there His hand outstretched calling to you.

Perfect Vision

We live and learn I know that refrain well,
And every day presents facts that are new,
That bring a smile or sound a warning bell
Or lift a veil from eyes so we see through
The outer skin of those we thought we knew;
That may or may not be a pretty sight,
But knowledge lends us power to accrue
The wisdom to make choices that are right.

We are never too old to learn they tell
Us: we always have the chance to review
Our opinions, and perhaps to dispel
Doubts, or on the other hand, bid adieu
To things and situations which imbue
Our lives with sadness; then to our delight
We’ll gain, if we to our own selves are true,
The wisdom to make choices that are right.

Perhaps we are at time too prone to dwell
On painful events caused by people who
Like books we judged by their cover, their shell,
And that’s a really silly thing to do;
So easy to be wrong, to misconstrue
Their actions; for that can put us in quite
An awful place and hard pressed to pursue
The wisdom to make choices that are right.

Sometimes we wonder what all the ado
Was about, when at last the long-sought light
Is visible and we can tap into
The wisdom to make choices that are right.

Sal Coraccio

William, and the Dragon

It was the latter part of fall,
the sky like slate grew cold with mist,
and though it promised us a squall
with growing winds that doth persist
to make the tavern's signpost twist,
we kept our tankards filled with rum
and sang of friends and maidens kissed,
the day the dragon ate William.

It started, as I do recall,
as William slammed his meaty fist
and took to wave it at us all
on muscled arms and heavy wrist;
was someone worthy in our midst,
who would, on challenge, with him come -
he was so obviously pissed,
the day the dragon ate William.

Yet none among us took the call,
we having known or having guessed,
that it involved the grisly wall
and nearby cave of late possessed,
and though we made a harsh protest,
he gave our noses all the thumb
and stormed right out without assist,
the day the dragon ate William.

We should have tried but he'd insist -
who'd have thunk the boast would kill him;
we sang him drunk on his great quest,
the day the dragon ate William.

Amore

I want you to know I love you
For you are everything to me
But that my dear, you always knew
And that you shall remain to be
My one and only happiness
You lift my spirits when I'm blue
You share your love with openess
I want you to know I love you

I want you to know I love you
I want you to know I'm happy
I want you to know my love is true
This love beyond eternity
You make simplicity joyous
There is nothing I wouldn't do
Your love is always generous
I want you to know I love you

I want you to know I love you
And that is a life guarantee
To share with you each sunsets view
We are so blessed, I must confess
Silence becomes music for two
Let us listen to the vastness
I want you to know I love you

We shall always have this closeness
This and much more I believe to
Be our try at love endless
I want you to know I love you

Dignity

So much to do so much to share
True loves helps in time of pain
With each love a life of care
Helping each other to sustain
Love as much as you would deign
We lie on the bed together
Our love our life forged a chain
No one will separate us ever.

No longer knowing I am there
Constantly hearing "what's your name?"
These last months have seen so much wear
We have loved and will again.
Your mind died before the frame
At least in death we'll be together
Our love will not have been in vain
No one will separate us ever.

Stroke my face in mindless care
A reflex from a half dead brain
I wish, but there is nothing there
No conversation, just refrain.
No tears left and no shirt to stain
I know now love is forever
What we have lost we will regain
No one will separate us ever.

Life in your eyes begins to wain
Our ties with life we now sever.
Sleep my love dream of Cockaigne
No one will separate us ever.

Pills we took soon closed your eyes
Our breathing slows, no more sighs
Feel what I've done is for the best
And you fall asleep against my chest

Gippsland Floods

The hard beating rain came with the wind,
Roaring and slashing through the trees
And the winter scene was harshly skinned
As if to bring arboreal life to its knees
And its death was all that would please
Nature in what was thought her rage.
Instead she had listened to our pleas
Be careful what you wish for in this age.

The oaks and pines, knowing their place,
Had bowed down to her as she passed,
Those that had ignored had been erased
The wise have survived her mighty blast.
The storm has eased and is now the past
Now is the time to start with a clean page
Will man take advantage of his wish at last?
Be careful what you wish for in this age.

A once parched land has broke it’s drought
With dried up beds now o’rflown banks
And flooded plains from east winds route
But the filling dams we must give thanks
Streets awash now show a river scene
Rubber life-boats are now all the rage
There’s a gap where the bridge had been
Be careful what you wish for in this age.

El Nino’s gone and La Nina’s in her place
There is now a reading in rain’s gauge
How long I wonder will we see this face
Be careful what you wish for in this age.

Il percorso sotto le stelle

When there is nothing above us but stars
Below us is the path we choose to walk
Let me walk with you and it will be ours
Do not rush your thoughts, let us just talk.
If perhaps in time we should choose to kiss
And linger in some spot for untold hours
For what is love but time spent just in bliss
When there is nothing above us but stars

When there is nothing above us but stars
Then heaven is open for us to touch
What are clouds but blankets, never bars
So that each time we reach out to clutch
They will have warmed each of our dreams
We will watch as the icy mist disappears
In the freshness of morn plan our schemes
When there is nothing above us but stars

When there is nothing above us but stars
The moon lights up our path along our way
Must we treat the shadows like our fears
That in time might just betray?
Consider them once part of something whole
Now ethereal gifts from light years afar
Time has blessed us and took away control
When there is nothing above us but stars.

Time can’t be controlled in spite of power
The path we take is carved by life’s scars
Ignore them love, let’s find a fragrant bower
When there is nothing above us but stars.

One Fine Day

One fine day my dreams will come true
As my lover walks to me out of the mist,
From that moment I will never again be blue
And heaven will resound once we have kissed.
Once in my arms we will love forever more
With only each others needs to pursue
Two united souls, with eternity to explore
One fine day my dreams will come true.

One fine day my dreams will come true
I will know this once we have kissed
No heaven nor Earth just that one view
Shared ever, triggered by one sweet kiss.
Just two mature lovers wanting more
Yet what we seek is nothing really new
Each room with a window has a door
One fine day my dreams will come true.

One fine day my dreams will come true
And forevermore will be a time of bliss
Each night our vows of love we’ll renew
As with the moon and stars we co-exist.
With the break of day as most life wakens
The night time heavens fade from view
Strolling easily on the path we’ve taken
One fine day my dreams will come true

Reaching each fork along this new way
Sharing life’s adventure now all is new
And even black is a lighter shade of grey
One fine day my dreams will come true

Part Moon

Only part a moon rises in the sky
Still it lightens the Jacaranda leaves
The darkness is no longer an ally
In removing the thoughts my mind perceives
I know the truth is what my heart believes
That chill half-hearted light now brings remorse
And welcomes now the more delightful eves
Into a soul more wanting to stay its course.

New moon tonight has ridden up on high
It's brightened rays send forth silver sheaves
And make the shadowy side ignore the lie
Until dawn turns blue, finally darkness leaves
To disappear until night again achieves
And creates a memory of this growing force
Created by two lovers who conceive
Into a soul more wanting to stay its course.

But now old moon that is drawn so fine
Your sleepless face can barely bless the wreaths
On the ground with one grey kiss as you die
Put sharpened blades of light into their sheaths
In a night of darkness sanity grieves
But a love once held strong needs no recourse
Knowing now that darkness helps lovers weave
Into a soul more wanting to stay its course.

Unseen in darkness your lover receives
Your words a gentle murmur to endorse
Knowing that eternity is all and recedes
Into a soul that thought to stay its course.

Somewhere in time III

Somewhere in time two lovers kissed
And time stood still for just a while
Creating a mood of supreme bliss
Fate looked down and began to smile.
She is not heartless nor is she cruel
And recognised that true love exists
Seeing that this indeed was a jewel
Somewhere in time two lovers kissed

Somewhere in time the lovers wished
Separate upon the fullness of the moon
They wished that they could be united
And even more that it would be soon.
Fate listened and granted their wish
Proving with love you need to persist
Now they have met, each other cherish
Somewhere in time two lovers kissed

Somewhere in time two lovers walked
Along the path that Fate had ordained
As they walked they kissed and talked
Through eternity their love remained
Together they’re still sharing one soul
The moon and stars have witnessed this
And forevermore this shall be so
Somewhere in time two lovers kissed

Somewhere in time Fate made a vow
And kept that vow throughout all time
The Gods all said that this was fine
Somewhere in time two lovers kissed.

Xenobiotic, a Protest

I have found myself, not that I was lost
More that I was tangled in the web of life
The spider of that life made me pay the cost
And just in time I was able to use a knife
To cut myself free and get back on my path.
Even though its winter I must stand the frost
That disdainful breath of Fate and her wrath
I have found myself, not that I was lost

I have found myself, not that I was lost
But I was an alien living in a foreign land
An icy world where there was eternal frost
Emotionless where everything was planned
Smiles were sought and friendship bought
And love came only at an exorbitant cost
Was it love or simply an expensive thought?
I have found myself, not that I was lost

I have found myself, not that I was lost
Corporations and politicians control on life
Again today I thought about all the cost.
The cost of oil, of terrorism and the strife
Global warming, ozone layers and such.
Third the world is burning, another in frost,
There is all that flooding not leaving much
I have found myself, not that I was lost

I cannot isolate myself, that is a crime
I must speak out loud, or pay the cost
And such is the purpose of this rhyme
I have found myself, not that I was lost.

Climbing

The mountain that I chose to climb is tall-
on clear days I can barely see its peak,
the narrow path is treacherous and crawls
in twisting curves round crevices and creeks.
Beneath my feet loose stones and branches squeak,
each foothold is precariously tried
as slowly I will master the technique
to overcome this hardship, stay upright.

This vibrant rock is living, it enthrals;
the sights along the road distract- I’m weak,
each vista is seductive and it stalls
the steady progress upwards that I seek.
The summit is still far, the chance unique
to break new ground and trust my guide,
to follow in his footsteps and be meek-
to overcome this hardship, stay upright.

The gully is constricting with high walls,
as light has been cut off, the pass looks bleak;
the crowns of trees a ceiling for this hall
where high amidst the leaves a falcon shrieks.
I raise my head and see her wings in streak,
the fast flight downward to the prey she eyed;
it breaks my thrall and I at last can speak
to overcome this hardship, stay upright.

Restraining bonds shrugged off, I dare to peek,
new energy bursts free with every stride;
the words I cried from eyes have leaked
to overcome this hardship, stay upright.

Love Affair

As modest maidens in their first long dress,
wide-skirted trees sway coyly on the breeze;
with dips and bows they're dancing and caress
the air with softest touch in fragrant tease.
Pink blossoms of the Prunus Japanese
flirt gently with the purple lilac blooms,
while in great bursts of white the pear-trees please,
show off the splendour of the favoured grooms.

A veil of blooms half hides a knotted tress,
as finely drawn thin branches now appease
excited birds still trying to impress;
in dance of love they give a mate reprise.
Fast moving wings a-twitter, she agrees-
a cloud of flurried feathers- he assumes
responsibility for this year's seize,
shows off the splendour of the favoured grooms.

Among the luscious leaves in dark recess,
as trees are humming with the song of bees,
a nest is built and lined with purple cress;
the eggs are laid and fit in close as peas.
New life unfolds in spring in crowns of trees
as Nature's breathing in and out resumes,
shapes images and forms in all degrees-
shows off the splendour of the favoured grooms.

My garden seemed a Paradise at ease
until dark shadows blocked the sun and loomed;
the feathers on the ground, though bright, don't please;
show off the splendour of the favoured grooms.

Reflections II

Each dawn I walk along the shore;
my feet leave prints that slowly fade
as sun-touched surf floods with a roar,
obliterates the trace just made-
the sands of time run as I wade.
Each step I feel from heel to toe,
a litany of walking prayed-
while song of surf aids mantra’s flow.

Its beat pervades my inner core;
in constant rhythm it cascades,
unlocks that secret inner door,
inviting me into its shade-
that treasured spot where we once played.
Thoughts come to rest here, silence glows
in hearts of lotuses displayed,
while song of surf aids mantra’s flow.

As thoughts retreat into their drawer,
my mind escapes the masquerade-
enjoys the shining new décor
on which Ganesha is portrayed.
His left hand holds a lotus blade;
one foot rests on the floor below.
He bears a trident, gold inlaid,
while song of surf aids mantra’s flow.

The god of wisdom is my aid;
as footsteps in the sand will show,
my path is straight, I’m not afraid
while song of surf aids mantra’s flow.

Shivers on my skin

Your voice brings shivers on my skin;
I am caressed by unseen hands
and cords start trilling, deep within-
my strings are plucked by your commands.
Andante’s rich and mellow tones
reverberate, make my head spin,
they resonate within my bones-
your voice brings shivers on my skin.

Your voice brings shivers on my skin;
recalls our walks on sun-bleached sands,
the turquoise sea, a dolphin’s fin.
Allegro quickens love’s demands
till passions peak- releasing moans.
Where I am ending, you begin,
is lost in union, time postpones-
your voice brings shivers on my skin.

Your voice brings shivers on my skin;
it comforts me and understands
when dragging time wears patience thin,
it sings of hope and future plans
when we’ll no longer need these phones.
With songs and jokes you raise my chin;
we’ll build our love with dreams and stones,
your voice brings shivers on my skin.

Adagio, bridging separate zones,
connects your yang within my yin;
the aftermath is sweet, condones-
your voice brings shivers on my skin.

Stings

Amidst a mound of last year's garden scraps
my favoured guests have made their hidden lair;
with cut-off branches, leaves to fill the gaps,
a camouflaged and safe retreat they share.
At twilight they come out to sniff the air,
the tiny feet are shuffling through the grounds
in search of titbits for their daily fare.
The end of day and peace of night is found.

A bowl of milk put out for them to lap,
attracted cats as well, now four eyes stare
from each side of the plate, till tension snaps,
as cats don't fancy touching prickly snares-
the hedgehogs flatten raised and pointed hairs.
The clear spring air is filled with evening sounds,
high in the elm-tree thrushes' song declares
the end of day and peace of night is found.

The scene I just have watched holds me entrapped
in visions of a similar affair;
the incompatibility a slap-
no matter how I wish or pray or swear.
When no solution, should I stop to care?
As each well-meant attempt is barred, rebounds,
emotion obscures issues, temper flares-
the end of day and peace of night is found.

As hedgehogs roll into a ball when scared,
I won't put on the thorns that had me crowned,
refuse the allegations, they're unfair;
the end of day and peace of night is found.

There was a time

There was a time when all was new,
when we were proud and not afraid;
we laid our souls bare, showed we knew
each way- the sharp edge of the blade.
The sun shone brightly on our day,
above us stretched a cloudless blue,
as we partook of life’s buffet;
that was the time, when all was new.

There was a time when all was new.
The first betrayal cast its shade,
above, a mirrored cloud subdued
the clear blue of the sky’s cascade
and took away its fresh bouquet.
On the horizon storms then grew-
our sunny path was blown astray.
There was a time, when all was new.

There was a time, when all was new,
when distrust from false steps you made,
was balanced by our vows pursued-
or was it all a masquerade-
with you as predator- I prey;
is this the time to say adieu?
Above, our sky has turned dark grey;
that was a time, when all was new.

Decision time had come- I prayed,
would I be able to go through
this whole charade and not get frayed?
There was a time, when all was new.

Wimbledon 2007

As crowds are cheering, champions play;
heads swivel right to left and back,
all eyes are riveted today
on yellow balls, hit with a whack.
With much topspin the ball is served-
a gust of wind leads it astray
and suddenly its route grows curved...
As crowds are cheering, champions play.

As crowds are cheering, champions play,
they’re on the Tour, are keeping track;
opponents who play best on clay,
might be surprised in swift attack.
Each player learns from games observed,
acquires new techniques he lacked
and keeps a few tricks in reserve-
as crowds are cheering, champions play.

As crowds are cheering, champions play;
spectators watch and eat a snack-
their bodies move like one in sway,
attention’s taut, no time for slack.
On breakpoints won, applause deserved.
“Come on!” some players shout, display
a fist in mute salute; unnerved,
as crowds are cheering, champions play.

The final matchpoint is preserved-
it’s game, set, match; the winner prays,
whips wristbands in the stands with swerves-
as crowds are cheering, champions play.

Sidereal Snowfall - Poetic Howl
(An Acrostic Ballade)

Silent is night 'neath star-spackled heavens
In tandem, earth reels with the galaxy.
Daughters of the north hearth shiver; husbands
engage strong sons at cuts of fallen trees.
Roaring fires render winter's cruelty
essentially helpless. In plaintiff call,
a lone wolf howls its song, 'cross the snowy
limbo of dreams, like life in a glass ball.

Sleep comes easy out there in the woodlands,
'neath eiderdown and old pine; big cities
of the world seem nothing more than craven
waxwork, destined to poison minds - dis-ease
for the lonely heart - tempest for the naive
adolescents who yearn for bright lights, all
lingering at the edge of a lazy
limbo of dreams, like life in a glass ball.

Pander me not with the palaverin'
on all of the latest amenities
enshrined in the suburbs, the exurbs and
tenpenny bullfeather bureaucracies.
I would, if given my druthers or leave,
choose to be right out there under the all
absorbing awe, this star-tangled hazy
limbo of dreams, like life in a glass ball.

Hearken the call to the northland, take ease
on a down-feathered bed. As the snow falls,
we shall turn, in tune with the galaxy's
limbo of dreams, like life in a glass ball.

Sunnyside

Fierce growls from the gods of thunder
get the well-tanned lifeguards whistlin'
their charges out of the water.
Danger! This storm's on a mission,
they holler, as a fearsome wind
tears across the town's Great Lake,
threatening to set all a-spin,
leaving not too much in its wake.

Tourists take cover - tall waiters
bring small drinks, appear in tandem
with fork-light; the ensuing surge
sends pots of pelargonium
sprawling across the pavillion.
Scents of burnt toast, fries on the make
mingle with fear at the howlin',
leaving not too much in its wake.

Coast Guards, in bright yellow slickers
cross the lake to the horizon,
where a small white sailboat flounders.
The big vessel's horn blasts; tension
gathers and all who are lookin'
gasp as waves of a storm-tossed lake
swallow white sails, and all therein,
Leaving not too much in its wake.

Oh, do beware of the thunder
Electrical storms on the make
Take care, it could take you under,
Leaving not too much in its wake.

A Gentleman and His Lady Love

Lasting impulse and full of energy
Making rhythm as he blazes each road
Thinking and leading loving words run free
Just like some people to much fondness told
Yet, positive thoughts he’s out of the norm
Courageous convictions of world words plea
Will he succeed when it’s time to perform?
Lasting impulse and full of energy

To hear her of truth, respected they be
Seeing wiser things in life, she takes hold
Sharing enthusiasm graciously
This lady is interesting as gold
A lover or friend, marvelously warm
Her perceptions are worthy and bubbly
And just like some, sensitivity storms
Lasting impulse and full of energy

With his rhythm and her truth there they be
Making love wiser, they blaze a new road
He leads his lady to fondest love spree
Her sensitivity guilds with his hold
Their friendship thus has transformed
And waves of loving thoughts run freely
A gentleman, a lady now conform
Lasting impulse and full of energy

Their love brings in a magnetically swarm
Combining their thought waves floating highly
Loving essence shown as their love life forms
Lasting impulse and full of energy

elegant a lady she be
She holds yellow Acacias,
not telling love secrets of he
She is his finest collection
an Acanthus not to betray
She will sway with his direction
She is a pink Acacia

She is a pink Acacia
From time to time hopeless she be
A gift of snowdrop blossoms frayed
Giving her hope and setting free
Thoughts of painful recollections
Scattered ‘round her Agrimony
of her firm appreciation
She is a pink Acacia

She is a pink Acacia
held guilt inside her, she sees
Lovers of Almond flavored days
some lack of will and frenzy
From past actions and transgressions
many Aloes were potpourri
Removed from grieving emotions
She is a pink Acacia

Flowered messages creations
Spoken and written to portray
bouquets of Jonquils affection
She is a pink Acacia

“Time”

Up and down in depth roads that spin and reel
Turning again, stopping being astound
Born to live and grasp hold of what life deals
Every turn and twist leads to one more bound
Time elapsing into another ground
Weaving in and out of past time darkness
Directing and etching a life more sound
Slowing time down absorbing peacefulness

Accepting life’s captivating appeal
Changing passions throughout life, you have found
Making the most and feeling each zeal
Will next steps taken be wrong or profound?
Seeing mistakes that others kill and wound
Reminding you to strive to happiness
Time’s freely waiting, accomplish what’s sound
Slowing time down and absorbing peacefulness

Rushing through time, passing up time surreal
Escaped horror’s back to life whirling ‘round
Finding time’s well meaning and empyreal
Time wanders quick and freely without sound
Minutes been wasted making life confound
Hours spent unimpressed with laziness
Timeless memories of loved ones renowned
Slowing time down and absorbing peacefulness

Will your time be spent wise on solid ground?
Will hours be wasted in hopelessness?
In time with help and patience you’ll be found
Slowing time down and absorbing peacefulness.

For Apples Sake

Romes tree has called her home to it,
While Empires crop will less than sate,
Her taste is for the apples wit
The one and only, best to wait
For, for only this can we sit
Down to dine, for love's sublime match
Can be found under moons glow lit,
A golden moment to there catch.

Impossible sweet Crispin pit
Spit upon loves ground none too late
To grow eternal fruits, so writ.
For all the kinds and ways we relate
Such variety man creates,
Heaven on earth where we're bewitched
And there we may then conjugate
A golden moment to there catch.

For apple blossoms just one whit
Is all it takes to integrate
Soul mates star stones so tightly knit,
Such a shining moment awaits
Them in their eternity gate
Which passing through brings no mismatch
, Just another sign that waits
A golden moment to there catch.

When time has gone, no blooms do quit,
For sun forever bless their patch
Of evermore rich dreams a bit,
A golden moment to there catch.
