Wreathed poetry is simply a natural blending of English poetry with the Celtic Welsh. Its creator George Herbert
was born into a wealthy artistic family in Wales and later was educated in Trinity College, Cambridge and was unpublished until
after his death. It is believed that his poem A Wreath was inspired by the Welsh form Englyn cryrch which uses an internal
rhyme scheme with an external one and gives a couplet scheme of:
Later poets realised that some Irish forms led with an internal form and from that was born Un-wreath poetry, simply the reverse of Wreath in that the first line starts with an internal rhyme with the second external and so on, there being no seventh line there is no external rhyme, giving this sestet a basic rhyme scheme of:
Wreathed and Un-wreathed Challenge Replies
It makes my blood boil, I see red,
I get a head-ache right away;
And with each passing day, I dread
Reading the news; instead I pray
Our youth who've gone astray will tread
A new path. What more can I say?.

Come softly my lover, come unto me
caress me now, with your loving kiss,
those kisses that cherish, so tenderly
revealing a tender, and sensuous wish
for wishes forever will longingly be,
pictured lovingly, in both eyes of mist.
Come softly my love, come unto me
gather me close to your loving chest,
two hearts beat in rhythmical ecstasy
in ecstasy lovers perform with zest
a part of love where feelings run free,
free of tension, and forever blessed.
I lay down my head in pastures green,
soft green meadow, with pillows of moss,
far across the wild terrain I had been,
seems in my wildest dreams to be lost,
lost in thought, among a jungle theme,
in my dream I had travelled across.
As I peered through long green blades,
hidden thro` glades wild insects thrive,
they thrive in a dense jungle shade,
natures shade, that they all may survive,
and revive, when the hottest sun fades,
as it fades. I awaken, I too am alive.
The Feelings of Love
How would we know, if our feelings are low.
so low, that teardrops stain porcelain faces,
when faces are painted a warm, loving glow
which glows through, when a lover embraces
when embraces are few, how may we know,
will love flow, when our tender heart races.
How can it be, when true love hurts so much,
so much, it can break in two, loving hearts
while hearts may respond to a sensual touch,
for touch, prevents them both from falling apart,
foreplays a part of true lovers games as such
such as cupid drawing his bow, to send a dart.
Fly On The Ceiling
There once was a fly, upside down on the ceiling
where the ceiling tops, the end of a wall
static on this wall, he remembered with feeling,
the feeling that he got, when he did fall
while he did fall, his head it was reeling
reeling with the fly spray fumes and all.
He learned a thing or two, and can tell you,
you are sworn, to keep some secrets well,
he was well aware, you are one of a few,
but few he can trust, for they wont tell
and tells you now too, be careful please do
for you may not have time, to bid farewell.
The fly on the ceiling sees, and hears it all,
stored all, in the depth of his large black eyes
his eyes are opened wide, ready to enthral
to enthral, but passion caught him by surprise,
a surprise, as he dropped down from the wall
and that wall today, still echo`s from his cries.
When the full moon was brightly gleaming
throwing shadows on the woodland glades,
from a rustling sound of dry grass blades
pranced the prettiest of the Gypsy maids.
ribbons in her silken hair hung streaming.
A tambourine for rhythm she played
swirled in a deep frenzied excitement
swayed her body in seductive enticement,
moved she, entrancing, for all observant.
as she danced freely, her Gypsy rhapsody.
If Tomorrow Never Comes
An Angel flew down to Earth, here below
below clouds, with a breeze from her sigh,
she sighed, words of wisdom did flow
flowed through the winds from the sky,
for why, she had wished us all to know,
and to show, she had tears in her eyes.
Thus the Angel was sent down to say,
harken earthlings, children of the sun,
all are of one, what you may do today,
pray that today, it will almost be done,
when done, you may then forever stay,
one final day. If tomorrow never comes.
Red Sky At Night
A red sky at night is the shepherds delight,
and bright sunny mornings, there are sure to be,
to see a red sunset on a warm calm night,
beautiful sight to enhance, true lovers harmony
harmonious notes, music warms to a red sunlight
and sunlights shadows, depict a haunting melody.
Red sky`s in the morning, when the shepherds arise
scanning the sky`s, for their prediction yet again,
and they, once again turn their eyes to the skies,
the skies are red, natures sign of morning rain,
raining once again, as the air breathes a sigh
a reddened sky spans across earths domain.
I drink to you a full hearty glass,
From a flask of red ruby port wine,
I have mine, and yours I would pass,
But alas, I fear, to have drunk thine.
I feel fine, I`m a good strong lass
Do not ask me to dine, I decline
Red Wine, oh how I love you so,
though you make me feel so bad
I had too much, my head did blow
Now know, that I was such a cad.
And glad that you have got to go.
Although you were the best I had.
Walking On Air
I am walking on air, because you are near,
my dear, for you are now everything to me,
I see the love shine upon your face sincere,
to revere this love, knowing it will always be,
and for that smile, I wander near and far,
far across deserts and the deep blue seas.
I will be there for you, my love one fine day,
and pray one day soon, we both shall meet.
to greet with a loving hug, our special way,
this day when true lovers become discrete,
so sweet the taste of love that we display.
this day when we both walk on air complete.
When Love Runs Deep
Why did they feel, love had come to an end
the ending of love, of which bloomed so fair,
is it fair, broken hearts may not ever mend,
when in the end, true lovers really do care,
both shared the sorrow, like best of friends
for friends like lovers, mostly always share.
Would it be right, to say they were wrong,
wrong, to have broken hearts in this way,
and to say, that forever they both belong,
belonged to each other, forever and a day,
when one day on, their love was still strong,
not wrong, but closer in love, after the delay.

Childhood holidays, just me and my dog,
wet smelly dog and muddy welly boots,
a boot camp of life away from city fog,
lost in the fog we were hunting for coots,
little cootling ducks are dangerously wild,
in the wild back garden of a town child.
You're The Air To My All
You are the air I breathe to stay alive,
the life-sustaining force within my heart,
my bleeding heart can only seek to strive
for you; it strives to breathe when we're apart,
You are the part of me I need to thrive,
as love is thriving within this, our art.
If art can express words that say desire,
all I desire remains with you, right there.
My heart is there, not here without your fire,
the fiery flames where words so oft declare,
declarations of the heart to inspire,
the thoughts inspiring me to breathe your air.

A cooling breath steals the leaves
As the leaves change over to yellow.
This mellow scene makes me grieve
But leaves me feeling as though
I should know that long autumn eves
And believe in time warmth will follow.
Clay of Life
Throw on the clay and watch it spin
Understanding, life is just like that clay
As you shape the clay see the form begin
Realising, you must treat each single day
In a way that leaves a trail without chagrin
And you only win, one way.
Hearts and Souls
He closed his eyes in pure pleasure
Pleased at listening to her heart beat
That beat that only lovers treasure
The treasure of that feeling so sweet
Sweet hearts and souls now measure
A measure of how they are complete.
In their unison there was a final cry
A cry that created a different kiss
That kiss that said no more goodbye
And a sigh that only spoke of bliss
From love that lasts well past eternity
Dare deny that's how hearts and souls exist.
Let us light a candle and watch the flicker grow
But grow as it may, the flame can be no match.
What could be a match for heat that we both know,
And have known on our eternity's watch.
That watch we kept created such a flaming glow
A glow that suns can only try to attach.
What of night you ask when sleep welcomes dark?
Is not dark also the antithesis of light
Will not that lack of light destroy a budding spark
A spark that was created to cause love to ignite
Igniting in darkness causing lovers to embark
On the greatest journey on the blackest night.
Our Love Delayed
For a while I thought I knew someone
Someone who made me feel elite
Incomplete now because she has gone
We had fun as she swept me off my feet
A treat that love had briefly shone upon
And the sun shone on two souls replete.
Now it is the morning of another day
A day that begins alone and incomplete
Yet sweet, because I realise in some way
It is only a delay until we will again meet
The heat this time, is greater for the delay
A delay til we find ourselves complete.
Waiting for a Day
Because I could not stop for death
Death left me to my own device
A device that looked for one of wealth
This means I put death on the ice
That kiss of ice and that final breath
The final breath I've now missed twice
He kindly stopped for another bloke
Or else why am I still around
Still around and almost still as broke
Hidden in the smoke when life is sound
I sound it out carefully and have a poke
A careful poke not wanting a rebound
Someday I will hear that gentle tap
A tap heralding my soul's timely end
An end from this my earthly lap
A lap that will give me time to send
That I intend to take that final nap
And clap and greet him like an old friend.
Admire the wind, admire the view
A view of mountain peaks and such
Such a sight seen by just a very few.
Which Heaven gave to me to clutch
Still I wish it could be seen by two
True love would appreciate the touch..

Black clouds curtain thunderous skies,
Cancerous sky once hidden only by trees
With trees now shadowed in steamy sighs,
Steaming sighs explode the earthen leas,
Leaving leas for sweat on angels brows with whys
For why the streets are rivers, whole towns become seas.
Royal beauty that flies with Cardinals wings
Whose wings delight noon's day bright
And bright songs heard, in forest rings,
Crimson rings a heart with love's light
Such light fills the skies and by sun brings
A thought that brought a flower to a lovers night.
Six mares on an ocean of grass
Grassy waves blowing songs around
Round and round manes and tails, across soft ground
Soft ground where foals sleep sound
Sounds of night accenting dreams pass.

Divena and Ryter
Grains of time, passing slowly through,
Flowing through life, particles of sand,
the sands, that flow from tidals anew,
hour glass anewed, good fortune in hand,
take this hand, lovers destiny, reviewed
forever renewed, from the sea,to the land.
Neptune rules the waves of the seas,
the seas, whisper legends to be told,
once told, sailors sung shanties with ease,
easy to please, dark rum in the hold.
oceans behold, in a briny sea breeze.
natures breeze, where destiny unfolds.
Gone are the days
Gone are the care-free days of our youth,
Youthful days when all was so sublime
Those primal days when word was proof
Going along the paths you chose to climb
With each climb, Time, and Fate was aloof
Truth blown away like the sands of time.
Some people are born with the silver spoon
A wood spoon for others in life's pantomime
A pantomime where you are a chosen goon
But a goon that survives what ever the clime
Sometimes others have perished before noon
Their lives blown away like the sands of time.

Divena and Jem
The rivers were still, calm and serene
So serene, was the mountainside valley`s,
The valley`s were silent, and evergreen,
evergreen where Welsh choirs tarried,
tarried by cascading waterfall scene,
sang scenic hymns, for a grand finale.
The spirit voices rang from the hillside,
from beside the streams to mountain peak
the peeking clovers silently hide
in hidden lands they wait for one to speak
the dragon spake of our patriotic pride
Be proud of the Welsh nation we seek.
