This form is the creation of the popular Norwegian poet, Jim T Henriksen and usualy consists of four stanzas.
Each stanza consists of five lines of six syllables or if you prefer Iambic Trimeter.
The first line of each stanza is a refrain and in the four following lines, lines three (3) and five (5) Rhyme. Here is an example:
Arcane Blue

I dream in arcane blue
as stars begin to shine,
in sleep, I feel your love
as heart entwines with grace,
I touch the night above.

I dream in arcane blue
of days that fled the moon,
in hopes that I will find,
the one who stands by me,
and walks the same long wynd.

I dream in arcane blue
then reach to clouds on high,
embrace the stars that shine,
within the pulse of night,
and know my heart is thine.

I dream in arcane blue,
oh, goddess, queen of all,
thy love has made me one,
a torch upon my path,
to life now free and done.

My Trinidad

Trinidad I love you
More than you'll ever know,
Lovely land of my birth
You have a hold on me;
Paradise here on earth.

Trinidad I love you
And when I see you down
My heart grieves for your pain;
Your children are dying
Their blood an awful stain.

Trinidad I love you,
Your mountains and your plains,
Your rolling hills and seas,
Your blue skies and black pitch
Your flowers and your trees.

Trinidad I love you,
Will do so 'til I die,
No other place for me;
For better or for worse,
My home, my kairi.

Unsung Heroes

The firefighters serve
Their country every day
Just like other groups do;
Yet still it seems that they
Seldom get a 'thank you.'

The firefighters serve
And still some criticize,
And even assign blame,
For things they don't control,
To our eternal shame.

The firefighters serve
But some appreciate
They service they provide.
God bless you firemen
You are a Nation's pride.

Lost Childhood

I know I`ve been here before
remember this place so well
I played by the hedgerows wild
`twas a very long time ago
when I was all but a child.

I know I`ve been here before
for just around the corner,
is a pond with ducks therein
with a boat which I floated
to feed, and watch them swim.

I know I`ve been here before,
where sloes, and hazels,flourish,
sweet buttercup meadows, I`ll find
have all been there in the past
returned once again in my mind.

I know I`ve been here before
for my memory has never failed,
time has gone by so fast
I now have found, once again
childhood days I lost, at last.

Take Me By The Hand

Come, take me by the hand
walk with me in the forest,
`neath, the shaded oaken trees
we may tread, on fallen acorns,
that have rested on the leaves.

Come, take me by the hand,
as we rest in bluebell glades
to watch the wild life play,
while birds protect their nest.
and eggs they laid this day.

Come, take me by the hand
we shall feed on wild berries,
and drink of the honey dew
while squirrels sit on a branch
focusing eyes, on me and you.

Come, take me by the hand
I will show you the river,
that doth flow betwixt the land.
where we may bathe, therein
if you care to hold my hand.

Twilight

At twilight, when the day is done,
when a peaceful calm, fills the air
gentle breezes caress my face,
I sit quietly there, by the pool
observing all of natures grace.

At twilight, when the day is done,
scents of honesuckle, and mimosa.
waft towards me, as I dream
to songs of cascading waterfalls
and music,from my sacred stream.

At twilight, when the day is done
I drift away to far distant lands,
exotic places, etched in my mind
but none as pleasant as where I am
my cherished haven, is hard to find.

At twilight, when the day is done
and tired birds have gone to rest,
I bid goodnight, to the evening sun,
while moths flutter a midnight dance
by moonlight, when day is done.

Soft The Wind Blows

How softly the wind blows
in sweet breath of morning
dasies hide in deep mists
hark to clear dawns chorus
happy the day sun kissed

How softly the wind blows
in warm sunny meadows
whispering corn grows tall
barley magestic here
this land that feeds us all

How softly the wind blows
as nigh time comes calling
chattering birds take roost
stars peeping in wonder
ending day on a boost

How softly the wind blows
as the world lies sleeping
calming the woes of day
All heavens angels come
folding hands as they pray.

Garden Pretty

In my garden pretty
rainbows of flowers grow
in wiggly lines they
move in time with the wind
and dance the day away

In my garden pretty
I sit beneath the shade
where a warm passing breeze
makes butterflies flutter
and birds fly when they please

In my garden pretty
share your secrets with me
no one will ever know
what you share with me here
I am your friend, not foe

In my garden pretty
come talk with me about
life's sweet mysteries for
no one can understand
all the answers, for sure

Icy Skies

The icy skies reveal
the news that lies in blue.
The killing rages left
a vent of conscious thought,
a wife and child bereft.

The icy skies reveal
the easy living here,
yet hunger wants, still more.
the pain of greed demands
a place in heart and core.

The icy skies reveal
a glimpse in lives and times.
But soft the light that shines
on paths that lead to Zen,
yet glare on Man made shrines.

The icy skies reveal
a truth for all to see
The silver light of love,
it waits to take our hand
within an open glove.

Visions

Look at me my sweet one,
And tell me of your love.
In return I will swear
Eternal love to you
This truth I do declare.

Look at me my sweet one,
Mine are open to you.
Look deep into my soul
See the truth lying there
And how you make me whole.

Look at me my sweet one,
And touch me with your eyes.
They tell me we belong
And why should I deny
Something that speaks so strong.

Look at me my sweet one,
With that look, half asleep.
Contentment looks that way
Therefore it's my resolve
Always to make it stay.

Winds of Time

The winds of time blow hard
First just a gentle breeze
Then with each passing year
Just like the seasons change
We wait for what appears.

The winds of time blow hard
In the summer of life
We seem inured to it
Even seeming to dare
Rather than to admit.

The winds of time blow hard
With autumn come aware
No longer resisting fact
Bowing to winds of change
Aware of the final act.

The winds of time blow hard
With winter comes the end
Some will admit defeat
Whilst others are dragged
Off stage still on their feet.

Xamine

What colour are your eyes
The room is nightly dim
Two stars are all I see
Enough I know will
Take us to Eternity.

What colour are your eyes
Be it known that gold's dull
Compared to what I see
A lustre time cannot dim
Because tis lit by thee.

What colour are your eyes
Diamonds are dull against
Thine flash and shame the gem
After each night of love
Thanking the gods Amen.

What colour are your eyes
Looking deep into you
What colour is a soul
I neither know nor care
Except you make me whole.

Zero Chance

They were too young to die
When Vesta made her call
At such a tender age.
As heroines they left
Departing from life's stage.

They were too young to die
Twenty one and one more
The world was at their feet.
Beauty and innocence
So nothing could compete.

They were too young to die
In caring for their horses
Trying to save their lives
They met with cruel forces
Were unable to survive.

They were too young to die
Their gravestones will remark
Death was busy that day
Gathering souls out the fire
And taking them to play.

Soft, my waking spirit
breathes poetic refrain
as nature's choir sings
a summer shimmering
cicada chorus rings

Soft, my waking spirit
called to rise from slumber
Aurora, in full voice
urgent, her searing touch
to wake was not by choice

Soft, my waking spirit
drifts barefoot to the floor
that stretches through the haze
of the suns wicked breath
her poetry burns days

Soft, my waking spirit
blinks the dream dust from my
eyes as the morning calls
the muse to dance, fingers
touch and poetry falls.

Love Bourne

In sooth hearts be bound
Like bundles of fine lace,
Made to order picot
All ribboned in red,
Or mauve, a real rainbow.

In sooth hearts be bound
Though no boundaries show
How to rap on love's door,
So the more you try to
Open it, the key's lost.

In sooth hearts be bound,
So when the key fits it
Don't throw away your chance
For chances of fate
Rarely wait for the Spring.

In sooth hearts be bound,
To find a way there
To lands pure paradise
That no map can define,
Till you unknot the bow.

Seasons Belied

O dainty daffodil,
Amongst the gray leaves
Of forgotten gloom,
Turn your bright golden face
To face the sun and moon.

O dainty daffodil,
Heaven awaits thy bud
To spring up and renew
The earth with delight
So love again comes through.

O dainty daffodil,
Hills are thine to now claim,
To claim winter ground then
And then once more take
Us to summers wanton glens.

O dainty daffodil,
Thy spill of color lends
Beauty to lands and eyes
Once dead with snows white,
Comes season that belies.

Soul Kissed

In an ocean of dreams
She slept upon their shores
Wrapped under swelling tides
Of the fires in her mind,
Her muse being her guide.

In an ocean of dreams
She kept details of thoughts,
Memo's of feelings there wrought
By moments in times eye
Where love was what she sought.

In an ocean of dreams
Sounding like symphonies,
Chromasthetic lucid,
Sheltered from blust'ry wind,
Her eyes on the lee side.

In an ocean of dreams
For gently pillowed hair
Stroked by loving sun
Teased by waves brush,
Soul kisses she has won.
