2009 Poetry Theme Challenges

#7 Thank You Peggy

To start my theme challenges I feel my first task is to say thank you to the previous host for her time and dedication. So the theme is Thank You Peggy. The picture link is to my picasa file where I have stored pictures related to the theme, the html is already set up so you can post straight to your poems if you wish.
I will update my files now and then if and when I find or get new pictures that fit the theme. The inspiration link takes you a prompt bank on Inspiration Corner if you need ideas.

For One Special Lady. Peggy

I knew you only, for a short while,
but feel that I`ve been blessed,
a helping hand always there
for whoever was in distress,

A caring friend who I shall miss
when your no longer around,
I sincerely hope your happy
in pastures new you`ve found.

So I will fondly think of you,
a sweet lady full of grace
and I know were going to miss
your beautiful smiling face.

Good luck my friend in all you do.

To say the words of thanks to you,
for guiding the pen across the page
and now its you that is our cue
as ink and paper our thoughts engage.

With smiles and words my gratitude,
to Peggy who inspired my dreams
a poet's verse, no attitude,
just thoughts with love and inky streams.

Thank you for being a muse in the night
when I sit in the shadows with no clue
of what my pen should on this paper write.
A theme of thought can show the ink what's true
and words they come in flowing lines, right?
Block came knocking my door I turned to you
to shed a little light on this dark night.

I have Known You

I've known you Peg for a long while
I've made you laugh and made you cry
But mainly trying to make you smile,
And now to us you're waving goodbye.
You made us love you with your style
Of crazy humour in plentiful supply
The oh so easy ways that you beguile.

You have made me laugh and cry to
With frustration cause of alleged wrong
But it was our cultures that were askew
Then soon you'd be singing another song
And everything would be just like new.
Now you've moved where we don't belong
Peggy I really thank you and say adieu.
