Retribution

It made me smile hearing your name
Having made me rue all those years
Spent crying those frustrated tears
Knowing you never felt the same
You were merely playing a game.
You and the Toad how you would laugh
Watching me struggle on my path.
You and he gaining from my work
Like a puppet who's strings you'd jerk.
I lost it completely for a while
As the problems on me would pile.
Now the boot is on the proper foot
You are the ones covered in soot
I sip my glass of wine and smile.

I have taken white wings of earth,
Strewn them across black universe
Become raven behind moons eyes
As she watches butterfly dawn skies
Clouds provide places ravens birth
Jet black storms of Fates thunder clap
Down pours the hours, each a slap,
Reality giving us choices
The rub of days hearing voices
Praise the ways of shadows wing flaps
Erasing the sun without dove
To carry his message above
The deluge on dry land at last
Has passed and raven flies on past
To usher in a new dawns love.

Autumn Secrets

Do you remember our Autumn Secrets?
The days devoted to exploring our feelings
And in the early evening culinary dealings
With honeyed prawns and special fried rice
It was the savoury taste of all that is nice.
The mood is set and can only grow and grow
Then with each touch, each kiss we easily know
That love had ultimately taken over our lives
With each kiss, each touch, passion survives.
In a way that infects the soul and just grows
I see an end to problems and the death of woes
For Fate has blessed us and given full licence
Feel her smile and hallowed by her silence
'Tis known silence is the perfect herald of joy.

Dreams

We dream of things that cannot be
Future events, things we only hope to see.
Hopes and wishes are the fuel for dreams
Wishfully creating paths for our schemes
On that path some hopes and schemes meet.
Rightfully we do not get all we wished for
Fate's far to wise and sometimes will ignore
What we want, purely thinking of our good
Sometimes considered to be misunderstood.
We realise with the coming of experience
She has stepped in and asserted her influence
Selfish people resent not getting their wish
Someone else would say that it was selfish
And shrug and state Fate knows what's best.

-----

Everlasting Flames

Dreaming of the romance of this night
The beauty, the lure of the full moonlight.
Dark blue skies, form a stars back drop
Sitting on a seawall at some exotic stop
Barely touching as love slowly builds.
Magically, soft, wet lips, light our fuse
Touching, surrender, as control we lose
Senses lost giving in to our feelings
Opening, giving, nothing concealing
In turn offering ourselves in love
Becoming a pure, loving treasure trove
Now with no thoughts of self or same
And with that love I cry your name
We have created an everlasting flame.

-----

Folly of Man

So that he may expand his dreams
And carry out his selfish schemes
The land gives up her dreams for mans
Oft-times laying aside much better plans
Whilst he ignores Mother Nature's screams.
Mankind continues the killing of trees
Then wonders at the hotter breeze
Replanting in the convenience of time
Thus creating his most grievous crime.
But like all mothers she knows everything
Especially when it's time to call a halt
Pointing out that it was mankind's fault
And also the lack of need for despair
Because like a mother she does care.

-----

Gentle on my mind

I still remember all my days with you
But most of all I remember the nights.
Nights together spent on fancied flights
We knew each other for so long
When we met feelings were so strong
Now we're apart there's only cloud
I wonder to whom do I cry out loud?
My bed at night lacking you is so cold
I would rather a different tale be told.
Once the feeling of being complete
Of nights of warmth and passions heat
A confused world questions my plea
Realised long ago when we used to be
Looking down from our starry view.

-----

Heartbeat

In the deep silence of outer space
You can hear the heartbeat of infinity
A true meeting of what really is Eternity.
It's an absence from all, a presence erase
No time and yet an ever present phase.
On Earth there is life and many races
What of Eternity does that have faces?
If it does, does its heart beat the same,
And if not what is its heartfelt refrain?
In outer space men have felt the silence
Unless we go there, we cannot share
I would love to go, there is no dare.
I'd buy hearing aids so that I could hear
I'm sure its heartbeat wouldn't cause fear.

-----

The Keys of Love

Two lovers watch the moon rising outside
They find as they talk their ideas coincide
They're talking about love and its phases
Sometimes comforting and sometimes blazes
Whilst music plays softly in the background.
They know each look and that special smile,
There is a cessation in talk for a while
As other things become more important
One thing they do know, love is constant.
The music plays on being set on repeat.
Smiling stars have now filled the night sky
The smiling moon moves on bye and bye
Sure now that her message has been told,
What they have is worth far more than gold.

Nearly Spring

Sounds of morning awakening
The sun rises to birds singing
These sounds helps me open my eyes
To a brilliant dawn and blue skies
The first day of spring is ringing.
They've made their nests under my roof
As to being a blessing I'm far from aloof.
Come Spring it'll be a time of fun
Where happiness will have just begun.
For a while we'll be back and forth
Winter will fight for all she's worth
But the days are no longer short
As upwards the hot sun will sport
And the hot wind'll come from the North.

Question of Love (Another)

Is love made of rock, hard granite stone,
Heavy and solid, and sometimes a bore,
Or a hardened shaft that strengthens our core?
Or perhaps a man to whom maturity's grown
With resolve, tougher than mere flesh and bone.
With a grip of steel from a powerful hand?
For rock shatters and wears away to sand!
I'm a simple man and yet I know I love you
In full possession, knowing, what can you do?
Is love just an illusion of hormones and wishes
Or a feast, a smorgasbord, full of exotic dishes,
Not where instinct to breed becomes only a chore
Or is love someone that forever we will adore?
Or do we receive far more than was planned
Someone worth more than the whole Earths riches

-----

Return to Spring

The noisy chatter of the early morning rain
Silences the dawn chorus with promises vain
And large droplets fall but only offer wetness
Vague promises of an end to years of dryness.
Is nature just a tease and it just stays the same?
Dry earth pleads for Mother Nature to share
Far off flashes and crashes answer the prayer
Once again diamonds splatter on windscreens
Giving hope to all, and promises of dreams.
Dreams are often dashed with false promises
Dark sonorous clouds have returned again
The distant thunder rolls, but what does it contain?
But now the world is cold again as it should be
Perhaps at last we'll see a return to normality.

-----

That Look

Would that smile invite a single kiss
Nay much more's offered with all this
Even more with just one single touch.
One single glance betrays so much
So much heaven and so much bliss
The dimpled cheeks, the flashing eyes
That now coy look could not disguise
The reddened face and sudden clutch,
One single glance betrays so much.
What I offer is love not just a crush
Former barriers have been torn down
And fashions now a flimsy gown
Now with passion you like to brush
One single glance betrays so much.

-----

Under the Moon

Surrender to me in passion and desire.
Come to me love, if only in your mind
Our souls, our secrets we will unwind
Your needs I'll sprinkle with loves fire
I'll pleasure you, be your love supplier.
Under the moon we'll meet each night
If the sun doesn't rise there's still moonlight
Come to me my love just take my hand
And I'll hold you forever, in wonderland
When dawn appears, we'll open our eyes
What ever the clock we need never rise.
Sharing love with stars and moonbeams
Assuring you I will fill all your dreams
And Eternity together will be our prize.

-----

Why

Why has your magic woven into my heart?
What made you conceive what would start,
From the warmth of a friend, hardly a flame?
Is it a sin that we should lay a blame,
Or being friends have already played our part?
Why have I become intoxicated by you,
That like any drunk, I need more of your brew?
Each night I need to sip more of your wine
Each time finding you more and more divine.
Like any drunken sot I need you more
In amounts greater than e're before
And you encourage me to heights of sup
With succulent juices that o'erflow my cup
Ensuring that its you forever I'll adore.

XXX - Danger!

How dangerous is this night?
You give your body, you give your soul
Without your lover, you're never whole
Without love, nothing ever seems right
Like without the Sun there can be no light.
How dangerous was the night?
There was no focus, or direction, or sight.
Night will never be safe, but you can see
That life without love can never be.
I possess love and know I will ever more
But in possessing, it means I also share
I know my lover will eternally be there
Sometimes meeting on a foreign shore
She will always be the one that I adore.

Autumns Fantasy

Upon autumns fall of gold leaves
Shaded there beneath the eaves
Within magical tales of wonder
Cherubs of nature cast asunder
Of charms that fantasy weaves
Within a web of silken dreams
A nymph and goddess it seems
Wove the tapestry of creatures
Cast within the heart of nature
Earthy shades of autumns scene
May only upon a season be seen
Before earths fantasy fades away
For cherubs shall do as they may
And return next autumn serene.

Born of the Gods

Within the realms of deep waters
Lurks a phantom within unknown
Murky waters that are deeply prone
Unto half human amidst sea otters
Fate begat of Neptunes daughter
Perilous waves had crashed ashore
Changing the scene of ancient lore
So woman and beast intertwined
Past history never stored in mind
The past to the future again began
Serpents arose from the ocean bed
But life was not the same to be said
inter breeding was then a spectacle
As woman now adorneth tentacles.

-----

Broken Spirit

Better the bird in natural state
Than locked up within a cage
Tho' a must have is all the rage
To realise this may be too late
He may perish and die of fate
Let him spread his wings to fly
Amidst the green fields of rye
To discover his world of needs
In his haven of ripened seeds
For a bird shall never happy be
Unless he is wild and ever free
Folk never do try to understand
Never to be in their native land
No stamina to fly across the sea.

-----

Bugs Lament

'Tis time I think to hit the road
No one is left to share my abode
With an empty nest I cannot hug
Not much of a life for a bug
I might just as well pack my load
I never had in mind rejection
Pardon me or shall I mention
Just because in a midden I fell
It is not my fault my body smells
I am only a bug all said and done
Here I am left as the only one
To fend and care for only myself
Sadly to be squashed on a shelf
Oh if only I had a cell phone.

-----

Day be Done

Cast not thy sadden'd eyes downward
Though worn and weary thou may be
Within toil and hardship ne-er free
O' muck and grime strewn upon yard
Where shepherds and sheep bombard
Weary thou be when the day be over
Afore thy drove thee cows from clover
When sun goes down beyond thee hill
Time be over but thy chore`s never will
When thee master be hard to please
'Tis ne-er but thy place to grumble
When thou do hear his belly rumble
A platter be laid wi' bread 'n cheese
Whist thou abed at last within ease.

-----

Graven Images

The gaunt face of an ancient doll
Sat on the chair against the wall
Some child of the past rejected
Which was only to be expected
A haunting took place in the hall
Dark was the night of evil spirits
Who dared awaken past secrets
Of images from an ancient past
Moulded into graven images cast
That a Victorian child cast aside
Ghosts of the past may coincide
To return only within darkness
Within horror of their starkness
'Tis naught for the living to abide.

-----

A Lovers Quest

Just one moment in time I live
For the love thou may freely give
Within the softness of thy touch
This sensuality I crave so much
Within eternity shall ever thrive
I see within thine eyes of blue
A vision of those feelings anew
To reveal love within that flows
Where as a loving harmony grows
Spirits within are blessed forever
An affinity that shall not sever
Such this blessing of love divine
Oh how I love that man of mine
May I come up to his measure.?

-----

Lucid Dreaming

She awakens from darkness unto light
From silent dreams that masquerade
Until shadows of the moons light fade
Upon the mists of her wrestless night
Her world apart formed second sight
That night she walked the unknown
Not a thing upon earth to be shown
That spake of this unfamiliar haven
Until she heard a screech of a raven
Close within this God forsaken place
With opened beak towards her face
Yet the sun shone thro' darker sky's
Blinding that raven within both eyes
Dreams are not ever what they seem
'Twas only a dream within her dream.

-----

Milky Way To Mars

This way that way, what way which
A sign post points t'wards the ditch
Tho' stupid I am that cant be right
There is no pathway there in sight
Looks like this is some kind of hitch
Or maybe I have gone back in time
When earth was still within prime
But why should a sign post appear
When there is no entrances near
The only way is up towards stars
Where there is no highway for cars
With only one direction for space
'Least I know how to find the place
From the milky way towards Mars .

-----

Moorland Spirit

He walks the moors a rugged ghost
Within the mists of the dawning
He who had risen without warning
Praised be to him heavenly host
To be the one they fear the most
For his vengeance may e-er provoke
Within the wailing winds he spoke
Thro' a fearful frightening voice
Which had shaken the earth by choice
For evil had put him where he was
Cast as a spell not without cause
There was never a rest not for he
Who shall not live or die to be free
For infinity he shall never pause.

-----

Pipes of Pan

I may not play the pipes of pan
Nor may I dance to a merry tune
Within the mystic month of june
May I ever haunt the foot of man
To play unto rhythm rather than
Play to a simple mountain goat
Who shall not sing a single note
Nor partake upon a merry dance
To play my pipes within a trance
Shall not persuade not even him
All he does is to stand and stare
But I have so much need to share
He shareth not his heart nor limb
For a fluctuant muted song is dim.

-----

Silence of the Lamb

I've said it before and shall again
It only takes a fraction of brain
To compose a fine work of art
But today I shall not take part
Upon silence of mind I remain
As all may see me just as I was
A silent lamb that had no cause
To capture the arts of her flock
When her brain shall not unlock
The pen in which a herd enfolds
Captured within from the wolds
No art measure's that of fleece
A spinners art that doth increase
Which a silenced lamb remoulds.

-----

To Wendy. (Blessed Be)

Sweet child of mine midst gods angels
O'priceless charm of precious jewels
Where shines the dawning of the day
My love thy life hath departed away
Midst realms of heavenly gospels
Time shall not erase thy need to live
Nor of love that you still freely give
Within memory of what was before
Of pain and sorrow that death bore
'Twas then thy life was not to be
No speech no sight of eyes to see
Until angels opened wide the gates
Of Edens garden where love awaits
Where senses shall remain as free.

-----

Unsated Slumber

Sweet child of mine midst gods angels
O' priceless charm of precious jewels
Where shines the dawning of the day
My love thy life hath departed away
Midst realms of heavenly gospels
Time shall not erase thy need to live
Nor of love that you still freely give
Within memory of what was before
Of pain and sorrow that death bore
'Twas then thy life was not to be
No speech no sight of eyes to see
Until angels opened wide the gates
Of Edens garden where love awaits
Where senses shall remain as free.

Carmina Animae

The flow of ink that is my blood
Each word then an unopened bud
Waiting to bloom within a verse
Often gentle but sometimes terse
And still words flow to form a flood
My skin the paper, a blank sheet
Where thoughts and dreams combine, compete
To find there its own perfect space
That brings a verse a sense of grace
The poem a poet's own self
The soul once left upon the shelf
Thus words and paper, ink and pen
Become me as I write again
And to these words I give myself

-----

Necessity to Love

The sweet moment two souls embrace
As lip meets lip and finds its place
And time stands still within a kiss
Time lost in this moment of bliss
In naked awareness of love's grace.
The fingertips that trace the heart
In love, as if they trace a chart
Are chasing emotional dreams
That through the senses desire streams.
The necessity to feel love
That fits the soul like a soft glove
Urgent need directed by fate
A need that can no longer wait
To give unconditional love

The Kiss - Gustav Klimt

The Poet's Song
Texte: Perceiving your own voice means perceiving your true self or nature. When you and the sound become one, you don't hear the sound; you are the sound - Seung Sahn

A distant echo over time
The single voice that none could hear
The whisper silenced by my fear
A voice which called me out in rhyme
As ink revealed the hidden crime.
Two voices that should speak as one
Yet kept apart and seen by none
Until words flowed from fountain pen
Nothing would silence him again.
His voice I called the poet's song
A muse upon my lyric verse
As two began to then converse
The heart could know nothing was wrong
And that I was he all along.

Dreamworld

Some nights you visit me in dreams
You kiss is tender like before
Starry smiles in eyes I adore,
Life in dreams is not what it seems.
Our music played two different themes
We couldn't endure, nor admit
For many years until we split.
Yet vows once taken persevere
Living apart, you still stayed near.
Now you've moved to the after world
You and I are still within reach
In dreams you call me from your beach.
As threads between us are unfurled
We watch how our past is uncurled.

Headaches (Caused by dwarves)

An army of dwarves pounds inside my head.
They've been at it all day, I've come to dread
their incessant zest to hammer away
but today I fear they've come to stay.
I wish they’d have an early night instead.
This morning I was woken with a blast,
with noise this persistent, I felt harassed.
I tried to sedate them with painkillers,
they merely laughed and went on with drillers.
It was late afternoon they took a nap -
in the constant racket appeared a gap.
Relieved I could think and write once again
too soon they returned to infest my brain.
I'm thinking of ways to set them a trap.

-----

Love's Palette

Love fills my heart till overflowing
each time I'm thinking of my dear ones,
in present days or those from bygones.
Love doesn't stop, it keeps on growing,
scenes might change, embers are still glowing.
My store of love is never failing
though there are times its vigour's ailing,
it's still constant as my beating heart,
through joyous times and days of smart.
Watching the sun rise and set each day,
warm love envelops me from within;
my feel for what nature holds, fits therein.
Love's palette shows in brilliant array
different phases of life's grand ballet.

-----

Mozart's 4th violin concerto
(played by Maxim Vengerov)

As waves of Mozart reach to touch my heart
I feel its subtle tendrils move within;
when violin's adagio has set in,
hard knots of tension soften, fall apart.
New energy flows in, I can restart.
The music both enfolds and raises me
I feel my soul grow lighter and break free
from earthly chains that kept her down too long;
I'm liberated by violin's song.
All thoughts have gone from my now silent mind
as rivulets of sound stream in and out
it is like breathing deeply, solving doubt,
in listening, all senses are refined.
Refreshed I'll walk my path as is designed.

-----

Odyssey

After Ulysses won in Troy
He wished to join his wife and boy.
With his men he sets sail for home
But angry gods force them to roam-
Time and again they are decoyed.
Escaped from Lotus-eaters dreams,
The men get caught in Cyclops' schemes.
Again Ulysses finds a trick
He blinds the one eye with a stick.
Hiding amidst a flock of sheep,
They flee the provoked giant's keep.
More hardships follow, most men die,
Yet Ulysses will still defy
To embrace his loved ones and weep.

-----

Tea Sonnet

I like my tea unsweetened, black and strong
it keeps me going when I go along
to do every job the day is asking.
Even things that can be quite tasking,
with tea through the day you cannot go wrong.
Though coffee gives me a boost, tea sustains,
brings balance while working and relieves strains.
Another cup during the afternoon,
Before I go to the garden to prune.
At five, before I start cooking dinner,
tea with fresh mint is for me a winner;
I prefer it to wine at any time,
the taste of good tea is really sublime;
not drinking sweet stuff will keep me thinner.

-----

Transcendency

I know you are in every breath I take,
your presence permeates me when awake
in all my waking hours till I sleep,
in salty tears on days I have to weep.
You are in happy laughter and in ache,
in meditation I feel close to you,
I can reach out to you when I am blue,
you are my strength residing deep inside.
When calling you, I've never been denied,
in times of sorrow you lift up my soul
and when I am in pain, you make me whole.
I see you in each flower, in each bird,
I hear your voice in music and in words.
To join you when I die, my highest goal.
