Air Aruba

The wind never stops on Aruba
But it's always dry there too;
You can fish all day or SCUBA
Dive, that's all I'd wanna do.

The folks speak Papiamento,
A goulash of a tongue;
A real geography lesson,
In Native/Dutch/Brazilian.

It's crawling with iguanas,
There's rats in the coconut palms,
So many natural wonders,
I wouldn't have any qualms;

I'd quit this burg tomorrow
And comb the beach for life
With no regrets or sorrow;
I'd even take my wife!

We'd set up shop just seaside;
A bar and a luncheonette;
And there happily reside,
For the rest of our sunsets.

My Wings

My wings shall ride the silken morn,
Patterning the silent and sunlit sky,
Under Cancer and Capricorn,
Flying where no bird can ever fly.

My wings cover the tapestried earth,
And the shot blue silk of the sea,
Flying high see the sun give birth,
With the world below in my apogee.

My wings cover the entire world,
From over the conquered mountain,
Where cloud pennants are unfurled,
Over which I ruled as sovereign.

My wings now turn for what is home,
Whispering and singing out in flight,
The day is done, no time to roam,
Descending now towards the night.
