TRIOLET

This is a fun little form having a rhyme pattern of A. B. a. A. a. b. A. B. The form will work with the word, phrase or line repeated.
The a and b are of course just standard rhyme.
There is no set syllable count, although a standard eight syllables seems common with most of these forms.

Tremble

Your very closeness, can you feel me shiver
Your eyes within setting my heart to tremble
My soul reaching out for you aquiver
Without touching, feeling fire, I shiver
My senses soar, running wild like a river
Your touch sears, my thoughts disassemble
Your kiss stirs me, a spiritual shiver
This love causing my foundations to tremble.

Susan Vitteta

It will be noted in this example Susan repeats only the last word. However, the example below shows the full line being repeated.

Raining Kisses

Summer sweet kisses rain on fertile plains
Easing drought of eternal loveless years
Drinking in rapture of nourishing rains.
Summer sweet kisses rain on fertile plains
Healing festering clefts caused by life's drain
Excitement blossoms from roots of chaste fears.
Summer sweet kisses rain on fertile plains
Easing drought of eternal loveless years.

VARIATIONS TO THE TRIOLET FORM

Trio of Triolets

Most repeating forms link in some way from one stanza to the next and the most common link uses a line of the previous stanza as the first line of the next. When the stanza of the triolet links the last line of the first stanza to become the first line of the next stanza and that stanza links back to the first line of the first stanza, this is A Triangle of Triolets.

The Triolet Sonnet

If two stanzas are added together with the two refrain lines linking then it becomes a 14 line poem (sonnet).

The rhyme pattern becomes A B a A a b A B a A a b A B again it would work with the A and B lines being completely repeated or just the rhyme word repeated.

Imagine

Imagine a moment my love
A ballet where hands do embrace
Beneath pale sky we not speak of
The pure touch that become our love
And as long as heaven above
Ignites the beauty of your grace
Ill wait patient for night my love
A ballet where hands do embrace

Imagine a moment my sweet
Sunset and we are but alone
Where hands may do more than just meet
For lips pressed together taste sweet
And night does cloak to be discrete
There, bodies ask of the unknown
A love rush's day that tempts sweet
Sunset and we are but alone

Imagine a moment my dear
Us where we only lived by night
The world would cease to spin I fear
Endless time to hold you so dear
And the kiss you do so revere
So much more unspoken delight
If only it were true my dear
Us where we only lived by night

Unrequited

A vast crevasse of emptiness wanting
You are a desire that can only be
Fulfilled by the lonely water needing
To suffer a vast crevasse's wanting
To stand still for just a moment being
Contained and held unlike the restless sea
Something the ocean is rarely wanting
You are a desire that can only be

To receive the sincere love that I give
And store it away in a heart shaped box
Away from the light and warmth it does live
What I receive back is not what you give
To chance it returned your ways I forgive
To part with the key to open the lock
Basking in the light of the love you give
And store it away in a heart shaped box

In the end Im not sure of the distance
Ill let you go and away I will fade
Without the breathe of you I wont chance
The journey to your mirage at distance
Always so near yet so far at a glance
And I collapse underneath a palms shade
You vanish with the sun in the distance
I'll let you go and away I will fade.

Radiant Dawn

On white sand beach at breaking dawn,
heavenly song released to all;
open hearts hear while closed move on
or sleep through each magical dawn.
Once sun appears, angels swift gone,
scattered to aid broken souls' calls;
each tomorrow, a flawless dawn
radiates joy once known by all.

Sweetfart

His nose trembles when she farts
Yet he's the one that feeds her curry
Just a few hours later does it start
His nose trembles when she farts
Though he holds her close in heart
Towards fresh air does he scurry
His nose trembles when she farts
Yet he insists on her eating curry.

Autumn

A touch of cream in pastel skies,
show flights of geese, now southward bound;
they travel, when the summer dies.
A touch of cream, in pastel skies.
The morning blues resound with cries,
in ever-changing V’s around.
A touch of cream, in pastel skies,
shows flights of geese, now southward bound.

Death of a Prince

This week at last a prince has died.
The date with death was long postponed,
no means were left, all had been tried.
This week at last a prince has died.
The Queen, his wife, she must have cried,
sadness was now to be condoned,
This week at last a prince has died.
The date with death was long postponed.

Death will bring freedom to the prince,
life as a royal had been grim.
It took some time yet to convince
death will bring freedom to the prince.
He has been loved forever since
the day she first set eyes on him.
Death will bring freedom to the prince,
life as a royal had been grim.

To have a job was not allowed.
All that decorum was too much.
To cherish her, he had so vowed,
to have a job was not allowed.
Though sharp of mind he was endowed,
not oft he could have used it such.
To have a job was not allowed,
all that decorum was too much.

Tuesday

From nine to ten the meeting’s planned,
we are assembled, on the dot;
pots of black coffee, phones are banned
from nine to ten, the meeting’s planned.
The boss is back, his skin looks tanned-
a month of leisure on a yacht…
From nine to ten the meeting’s planned,
we are assembled- on the dot.

You Are My Friend

You are my friend and loved one too,
My thoughts and feelings I can share
It warms my heart to think of you,
You are my friend and loved one too.
You gave my world a brighter hue,
Since I know you my life's been fair.
You are my friend and loved one too,
All thoughts and feelings we can share.

To lose your love I could not bear.
I never call on you in vain,
In you I trust, for you I care.
To lose your love I could not bear.
The sun now shines, though it might rain,
My heart upon my sleeve I wear,
To lose your love I could not bear.
You'll never call on me in vain.

I long to be with you again,
To share with you our loving true,
Till you are here I'll bear the pain
I long to be with you again,
For you my soul sings this refrain
Without you here I'm feeling blue,
I long to be with you again,
To share with you our loving true.

The Crow

The last you hear before you die
Is the cawing of a crow.
In the tree near where you lie
The last you hear before you die
Is Satan's creatures beckoning cry.
Bells for wedd'ns, crows for funero
The last you hear before you die
Is the cawing of a crow.

This creature that is calling you
Seen sitting above your door.
With your soul that it has flew
This creature that is calling you
Is it to heaven you bid adieu?
Listen again to its hellish caw
This creature that is calling you
Seen sitting above your door.

That hellish crow is calling you
Feel hellish pulling on your soul
It's stringent voice, it's loud halloo
That hellish crow is calling you.
You see the pit, what can you do?
Dragging you closer to the hole
That hellish crow is calling you
Feel hellish pulling on your soul.

As black as coal this bird from hell
It's yellow eyes see in your soul.
Its sulphurous reekin' stygian smell
As black as coal this bird from hell
Now you're trapped and rush pell mell
Baring your breast offering your whole
As black as coal this bird from hell
It's yellow eyes see in your soul.

Dignity

So much to do so much to share
True loves helps in time of pain
With each love a life of care
So much to do so much to share
Love as much as you would dare.
Helping each other to sustain
So much to do so much to share
True loves helps in time of pain

We lie on the bed together
Wrapping you up in my arms
The last few months seem like forever
As we lie on the bed together
No one will separate us ever
No longer can you come to harm
We lie on the bed together
Wrapping you up in my arms

No longer knowing who am I
We who have shared so much as one
Constant loss showing in your eye
No longer knowing who am I
Your body has outlived the Ki
And everything in your mind has gone
No longer knowing who am I
We who have shared so much as one

Stroke my face as you would a pet
Love has vanished with your mind
There is no glimmer no hope yet
Stroke my face as you would a pet
No life in there a mind that's set
The eyes that look at me are blind
Stroke my face as you would a pet
Love has vanished with your mind

Pills we took soon closed your eyes
And you fall asleep against my chest
What happens now will be no surprise
Pills we took soon closed your eyes
My breathing slows, no more sighs
Feel what I've done is for the best
Pills we took soon closed your eyes
And you fall asleep against my chest.

Hands

I

These hands have not a manicure
Nor were they ever soft like yours.
With these hands you can feel secure
These hands have not a manicure
Your safety milady I will ensure.
Working with them so love endures
These hands have not a manicure
Nor were they ever soft like yours.

II

How much I love to touch thee
To please thee in a simple way
A simple touch is this the key?
How much I love to touch thee
That thou love it's plain to see.
A sight that lights the dullest day
How much I love to touch thee
To please thee in a simple way

III

Thy hands are so soft and tender
Yet strong enough to hold my heart.
A simple wave and I surrender
Thy hands are so soft and tender
My complete will it doth engender
So small and pale a work of art
Thy hands are so soft and tender
Yet strong enough to hold my heart.

Noises in the dark

1

Cicadas sing on a warm spring night
A background to our loving sound.
As we carry out loves age old rite
Cicadas sing on a warm spring night
Biting my hand in sheer delight
As heavenly shrieks and cries abound
Cicadas sing on a warm spring night
A background to our loving sound.

2

Sirens scream throughout the night
Too hot, too humid, too many sounds
You need the sleep, nothing is right
Sirens scream throughout the night
And so you thresh and twist and fight
A cacophony of raucousness abounds
Sirens scream throughout the night
Too hot, too humid, too many sounds

3

Hear those noises in the dark
Stealthy pattering of the beast
On your flesh it has set it's mark
Hear those noises in the dark
Dripping fangs, your fear is stark
Knowing soon you'll be the feast
Hear those noises in the dark
Stealthy pattering of the beast.

Nomad

No longer have I to wander
At last I have found a home
O'er desert waste or icy tundra
No longer have I to wander
I have found a pleasant pasture
Now there is no need to roam
No longer have I to wander
At last I have found a home

Finally I've found an inner peace
No longer have I to wander
My inner turbulence can cease
Finally I've found an inner peace
I feel my spirit self increase
I can throw my doubts asunder
Finally I've found an inner peace
No longer have I to wander

Starship

The lost Starship rides on the rim
Her solitary orbit far from man
So near to God, then far from him
The lost Starship rides on the rim
The nearest star shine seems so dim
Its orbit is a galactic span
The lost Starship rides on the rim
Her solitary orbit far from man

Her crew of mummies seated
Air long gone as is life itself.
Duties, missions all repeated
Her crew of mummies seated
Eyes fixed staring but unsighted
Machines are now the crew's relief
Her crew of mummies seated
Air long gone as is life itself.

No rest for them that die in space
No sod, no dust, no ash, nowhere.
Eternity has no saving grace
No rest for them that die in space
No headstone on a grave to place
Their souls are lost in space somewhere
No rest for them that die in space
No sod, no dust, no ash, nowhere.

Crimson Despair

Crimson nails rake along leather
across taut nipples, as she stands
over your body, light as feather
the stroke of whip, scent of leather
Pale skin red, fight tightens tether
Chilled laugh, heightened despair, clenched hands
draw red crescents, the sting of leather
ultimate pleasure, from where she stands.

Unspoken Dreams

Horizon burns golden with radiant light
Unspoken dreams no longer hidden in clouds
Soul free of chains - a spectacular sight
Horizon burns golden with radiant light
Eyes glow aflame with vision of right
Inner fire sparked by glowing ember found
Horizon burns golden with radiant light
Unspoken dreams no longer hidden in clouds

Soul free of chains - a spectacular sight
Inner fire sparked by glowing ember found
Passion unleashed in explosion so bright
Soul free of chains - a spectacular sight
Phoenix's wings spread preparing for flight
Dancing with abandon as Life's rhythm pounds
Soul free of chains - a spectacular sight
Inner fire sparked by glowing ember found

Passion unleashed in explosion so bright
Dancing with abandon as Life's rhythm pounds
Heart free to love Him with exquisite delight
Passion unleashed in explosion so bright
Riding crest of Destiny to its loftiest height
Glorious pinnacle releases spirit, unbound
Passion unleashed in explosion so bright
Dancing with abandon as Life's rhythm pounds

Beyond This Shore

Beyond this shore
And the farther shore
Beyond the beyonds
Where there is no beginning and no end
Go without fear
Buddhist Quotation

Ancient home fires beckon bright
Eternity awaits the weary soul
Rest, peace to comfort in that light.
Ancient home fires beckon bright
Death is the truth we must not fight
Is this to be our final goal
Ancient home fires beckon bright
Eternity awaits the weary soul

Eternity awaits the weary soul
Or do we merely wish it so
Ultimate reality the final role?
Peace and rest for the weary soul
Shadow of death becoming whole.
The truth lies within that shadow
Eternity awaits the weary soul
Or do we merely wish it so?

Why do we always wish it so
To see home fires beckon bright
And spend our time in the shadow?
Why do we always wish it so
In the darkness we cannot grow?
Reach out for truth, seek the light
Wish it, believe it, make it so
And see home fires beckon bright.

Circle

The circle begins as we are born
Life takes off on its lessons again
Like a new day begins with dawn.
The circle begins as we are born
Into life by circumstances thrown.
For some it's pleasure others pain
The circle begins as we are born
Life takes off on its lessons again.

Life takes off on its lessons again
Meeting others whose paths we cross
Through endless time it's all the same.
As life plays out its lessons again
Scenery changes the cast the same.
Making sense finally out of chaos
Life takes off on its lessons again
Meeting others whose paths we cross.

Needing others whose paths we cross
The circle ends as we are unborn
Sanity and wisdom away we toss.
Needing others whose paths we cross
Bodies and minds we no longer boss.
Others make decisions and are torn
Pity the others whose paths we cross
The circle ends and we are unborn.

What is love?

What is love if you never laugh
What good is love if you never share
Like a wound it will always chaff
What is love if you never laugh
What should be whole is only half
True love is when there is care
What is love if you never laugh
What good is love if you never share

What good is love if you never share
True love helps to share the pain
With your love a gift of care
So much to do so much to share
Love more than you would dare.
Help each other to sustain
So much to do so much to share
True love helps to share the pain

True love helps to share the pain
With that love helps you to laugh
And in sharing love can only gain.
True love helps to share the pain
Otherwise we would go insane
A lover steers us from that path.
True love helps to share the pain
With that, love helps you to laugh

Triolet Sonnet

Dancing with the Sea

Naked in full moonlight, dancing with the sea,
Arms wrapped tight, cheek to cheek, on deserted shore.
Tide's ebb and flow echoes pulse of two hearts meant to Be
Naked in full moonlight, dancing with the sea.
Lovers hands roam freely over slopes and dunes of each-
As tidal surge of passion floods each and every pore
Naked in full moonlight, dancing with the sea.
Arms wrapped tight, cheek to cheek, on deserted shore,
Love-swollen lips lick salty flesh as tide swirls 'bout their feet.
Naked in full moonlight, dancing with the sea,
Mermaids watch as bodies join in timeless ecstasy;
Soft moans and cries co-mingle with Neptune's soothing roar,
Naked in full moonlight, dancing with the sea,
Arms wrapped tight, cheek to cheek, on deserted shore.

Drowned in Rain

The colours of the world outside
Are slowly watered down by rain
What first was looking clear and bright
Has turned into grey black outside
Dark clouds have taken out the light
Today it won't come back again
The world looks almost drowned outside
By endless showers of cold rain
The flowers look a greyish white
There are no colours left outside
They were dissolved during the night
All that is left is a green stain
Where once was lush green grass outside
All has been washed away by rain.

-----

Twilight

The twilight glimmers with unseen light
The moon is hiding behind dark clouds
It is a cold and frightening night
The shadows dance in dwindling light
All hidden fears we'll have to fight
The night is filled with eerie shouts
While shadows dance in lesser light
The moon still hides behind dark clouds
The light and shadows don't feel right
The forms look stunted in changing light
To look too close will cause a fright
Bring to the heart uneasy doubts
The twilight glimmers with unseen light
The moon still hides behind dark clouds

Lullaby

Sleep well my love this night
Wrapped in my blanket of love
My arms holding you so tight
Sleep well my love this night
Kisses on thy brow so light
Feathered softly from above
Sleep well my love this night
Wrapped in my blanket of love
This way always feels so right
Sleep well my love this night
Eyes closed, breathing so slight
Your body fits mine like a glove
Sleep well my love this night
Wrapped in my blanket of love
