(Texte) (Shakespearian) Given any chance at all new life begins Creatures know their place and seek a mate See the humble spider and the web she spins All beasts live in harmony within their state. Every plant that pushes forth new leaves Knows it will have its time here then it goes That natures balance must be achieved Begins to procreate and so life grows. All this was given to man and his conceit And with time forgot this is not his plan. He is truly believing in his minds deceit Stating all this has been given to man Ignoring that everyday a species dies And all we hear are corporate lies. #1 (Pushkin Sonnet) Given any chance at all new life begins Growing, forming, shaping adapting to strife It thrives and shapes and lives and fits within This is the challenge Nature puts on life. Each plant mutates and has adapted so It lies dormant in sand and it sleeps in snow, And every year with the start of Natures round On looking close a new shoot is found Each plant finally awakens within the ground It is now the time and the chance to grow The rivers of flowers and plants begin to show And plant life everywhere starts to abound All this and more is part of Natures plan The least of which should humble man. #2 (Gaelic Sonnet) Creatures know their place and seek a mate But what is man nothing but a beast Thinking he is the master of his fate Wrapped up in the scheme of things Just like them must breath and feast Following what 'er his planning brings The simple ways that feel the Earth The Brehon laws of the Ancient Celt Knew what Nature was really worth. Beasts and plants in absolute harmony Know how the original creation felt Man has to learn what has to be Creatures know their place and seek a mate The simple ways that feel the Earth #3 (Shakespeare) But what of hidden places that are dim and dark Only occasionally will they see the light of day? Are they any less of Nature than a wildlife park? Have they a lesser right to have their say? Man in his arrogance moves the beasts of fear They always come back when he turns away They are persistent and return year by year In spite of mans work Nature has her say. What of the creatures that thrive in this domain Creepy crawlies that feed on mans refuse The little beasts that are part of the chain Even for them Nature has an important use. Soon there will be a time when Nature wins See the humble spider and the web she spins. #4 (Pushkin Sestet, Italian Octave) All beasts live in harmony within their state. Should one species become too strong The balance will change and their fate Nature will level it out before too long. And Natures balance is without deceit Until along comes man in his conceit Who often forgets that it is not his plan. Always thinking naught is better than man Ignoring that he's only an alternate form. Tribal ways "Civilisation" ignores the fact Science and technology only deceives. Thus ignoring every other creature born But its out of ignorance not an evil act Ask the ancients what the tribe believes. #5 (Couplets) Every plant that pushes forth new leaves Is aware of the life that it conceives And blossoms forth its symbolic scenes To procreate and pass on its genes Reliant on symbiosis for the key And needs the help of worker bee Or other creature that passes seed To fertilize each plant and weed And as the seasons wax and wane One years loss is another's gain Because Nature balances out with time So that nothing can out climb All things are equal we must learn A balanced life is our main concern #6 (Pushkin Sestet, Sicilian Octave) Look, see the eagle soar such a wondrous sight Majestic, riding the thermals where he belongs See the feathers spread out balancing the flight Playing with the air, soaring, listen to his songs. As he sleeps in the night another raptor is king He is wise and has no respect for fools who sing His flight no less majestic, who can see him soar, Is function all that important, surely there is more? Man knows that there is beauty in their flight This is often where his wisdom flaws. He will not spend time during the day or night To give to Nature the respect he owes. Each raptor king is deposed, despite their might Knows it will have its time here then it goes #7 (Shakespearian Sonnet) We all travel through life like wagon trains Leaving our tracks where we go on the grass Like wagon wheels on fresh virgin plains Making our presence in life felt as we pass Or perhaps footprints in the fresh beach sand Where in time the tide will wash away our trail. We sow our seed and they grow as planned But beating nature by growing on a larger scale The once lush fields once again become dirt. And so, the seasons come and go, as do we In the depth of winter there is another desert Nature has decreed it so and we must agree So from her for a while man has just thieved Forgetting Natures balance must be achieved #8 (Keats Sonnet) Spring is when Nature comes alive The air is clear and all life is new Blossoms bloom on bush and tree With worker bees rushing from the hive On their daily task to help life renew And for this task each plant gives in return A drop of honey to this busy bee Just rewards for helping to survive Knowing for every task a fee is due Never holding back Nature pays the fee Nor is there any need for concern This is the simple way that all life knows Every year this way new life returns Begins to procreate and so life grows. #9 (Villanelle Sonnet) All this was given to man and his conceit And live in simple ways upon the Earth Somewhere to live an abundance to eat. Living as one with the Earth, a simple feat Feeding, nourishing, finding out life's worth All this was given to man and his conceit Those who know never have to compete Following ancient ways there is no dearth Somewhere to live an abundance to eat. The ancients never had need to steal or cheat The bosom of Nature is a bountiful berth All this was given to man and his conceit All this was given to man and his conceit Somewhere to live an abundance to eat. #10 (Reversed Shakespeare) In much older times what men took from Earth Was replaced in kind with some other gift Always it was considered to be of equal worth Sometimes slaves killed at the end of shift Man was considerate and simple in his ways Knowing that nothing is free the user pays. Now he just rips it of the earth with no thought Coal, diamonds or gold taking out great wealth The clean skinned owners think of their own self. Ignoring it's from Nature that they have bought. There is no gift left to the Gods thanking them Brehon ways have been cast out by man Religion steals and thankfulness they condemn Who with time forgot this is not his plan. #11 (Free Verse) Truth is written on a sheet of paper Which is folded so we cannot see the message. The teller speaks and replaces facts with figures And speak of ideologies professed by vested interests Because of this everything suffers in the process. Old trees are cut down and not replaced by new ones The lungs of the earth are removed like a cancerous growth The "Rent a crowd" protesters are as bad These mercenaries lie in front of logging trucks After their fines are paid, go home to their marijuana or chardonnay And in the morning, return once again to amuse the media Selling more papers, so more tree have to be felled And the Media Baron smiles and drinks his whisky sour. He is truly believing in his minds deceit #12 (Blank Verse Sonnet) We are not kings and we never shall be gods But see vast petrol tankers criss cross the world Taking out of the Earth what cannot be put back All the time seeking more, regardless of life The petrol oceans will, in time be drained The Barons of Power will rape elsewhere And we their servants encourage their acts, Calling them Kings and worship their sins. Satan looks at our acts and laughs at God, Who gave us a place to live and food to eat We had only to share it and follow one rule And thus today the greedy make the rules The sons of Cain have taken over the world Stating all this, has been given to man. #13 (Pantoum Sonnet) Ignoring that everyday a species dies The Japanese world is filled with crime Presenting us with outrageous lies. Allowing the extinct list to climb. The Japanese world is filled with crime Their Whaling ships scour the seas Forcing the extinct list to climb. Making profit for their companies. Their Whaling ships scour the seas Deaf and blind to the worlds cries Making profit for their companies. Typically not feeling humanities. Deaf and blind to the worlds cries Ignoring that everyday a species dies. # Finale (Couplets) See the world from space how lush and green But down here the destruction is obscene. What man has done in the name of gain Really means civilization has gone insane. We destroy forests to build new towns Acting like a bunch of painted clowns. Cars and trucks we drive pollute the air But we carry on regardless without a care. One day soon we will be asked to pay Faced with the truth what will we say? It is not to late yet to make amends A wise person watches what he spends. Ignore the media for they have biased ties And all we ever hear are corporate lies. Teagan de Danaan |
