DIASPORA OR TERZA RIMA

Dreams Might Come True

When moonlight shines on the face of man's earth
And all is dark and so quiet around
Some of us will ponder on our own self-worth.

Thoughts of what could have been abound
Have we led the best life that was possible?
Is it all we thought we would have found?

Dreams of a different life seem unreachable
As far from reality as Armageddon
Like a sword through a stone in a famous fable.

When the night falls, it seems less forbidden
That our dreams feel just a moment away
That's when we can feel what we keep so hidden.

If we could have moonlight to replace each new day
Then, our dreams might come true and ever stay...
