TRIOLET SONNETS

Whilst looking at the structure of the Triolet it was realised that if two stanzas were added together with the two refrain lines being the link then there would be a Sonnet.

The rhyme pattern becomes A. B. a. A. a. b. A. B. a. A. a. b. A. B. It would work with the A & B lines being completely repeated or just the rhyme word repeated. The a and b are of course just standard rhyme. There is no set syllable count, although eight syllables is common with most of the French forms.

Lullaby

Sleep well my love this night
Wrapped in my blanket of love
My arms holding you so tight
Sleep well my love this night
Kisses on thy brow so light
Feathered softly from above
Sleep well my love this night
Wrapped in my blanket of love
This way always feels so right
Sleep well my love this night
Eyes closed, breathing so slight
Your body fits mine like a glove
Sleep well my love this night
Wrapped in my blanket of love
