Victorian Cameo....Elemental Sonnet How beauty changes thro'out the ages Along with industry of the fashion trade To keep within purse hard earned wages Images in cameo's so widely displayed A Victorian profile of beauty preserved No more than a relic of the past deserved Locket of gold graced with a curl of hair Long since gone but forever remains there Unforgotten love whose locks conserved Framed within cameo remained unnerved An elegant profile within an exquisite case Still remains within a past relatives heart A once victorian lady adorned in fine lace Of which her predecessor shall never part. |
