Carnival....Trinidad Sonnet Let the carnivals now begin in Trinidad Uplifting hearts having tremendous fun Dancing to rhythmic notes scantily clad Crazy is the rhythm of kettle drums beat Within the heatwaves of an Islands sun Inhabitants enjoying fun upon the street It is time to chase the bad spirits away Brightness are the colours of laughter Happiness shall be the order of the day Smiling faces are what they love to see Enjoying the celebration here and after For this is where all nations ought to be Let the carnivals now begin in Trinidad It is time to chase the bad spirits away. |
