The Logician....Byron's Sonnet Where Air and Fire combine in bright sunshine The eye can still be blinded by the self As logic turns its back upon the wealth Of intuition found in love divine. For love itself will ne’er be yours or mine If all we seek is things the eyes can see And close our minds to dreams of fantasy And miss the pow’r of truth in secret sign. Where hearts weigh truth not gold, it matters not, That logic fails to prove what love has found When science stands apart from Nature’s lot And leaves deep scars upon this sacred ground Sweet love returns its beauty to the plot Revealing magic can never be bound. |
