The Actress....Byronic Sonnet XI The drama revealed in passion's lament, Of eager feelings, of love kissed by hate, And those envious eyes daring to wait, A sign of change in meaningful intent. Can love see past the rage of this dissent Or open the heart so hope can survive? To sweeten thoughts as dreamings come alive And in those tender words let love make vent. Emotion once known as hysterical cries, Is merely whispered words a heart expressed, The freedom found in love-making's soft sighs, When thoughts and wants are no longer repressed, The spirit soars to break free of its ties To find the peaceful state where love is blessed! |
