Dark Red Rose....Burns Sonnet You came in the house smiling, Whilst clutching a dark red rose Which you had found so beguiling As you held it up, close to your nose. Then you offered it to me to smell Which I did and shared your pleasure. A lovely fragrance we could treasure Pleasing us so easy, and oh so well. The simplest things bring such joy So long I have known it to be true Yet sometimes you seem to be coy But that is you playing like you do. I have no fear now as time goes by For you have taught me how to fly. |
