lsland Breezes....English Sonnet Island breezes rush by me bringing news I hear them whisper in the mango tree As softly as the gentle lover woos, And mesmerized I listen carefully; But before I catch what they are saying In the blink of an eye they're off again Rustling leaves and branches, almost playing, And ere long followed by a cooling rain. I like to think that messages are borne Upon winds as they blow from place to place, That leave folks joyous or at times forlorn One never knows which one will be the case. Island breezes what tidings do you bring Come tell me everything that's happening. |
