Your words hit like bullets, tearing my skin,
I stand without armour, bared to the soul;
how can I ever regain feeling whole?
I'm lost in a maze that's started to spin.
With balance now gone and nerves stretched too thin,
I'm feeling tied up in Gordian knots;
we mislaid the key to love's sunnier spots.
Can we find it back, by searching within?
I don't want to lose you, we've grown entwined,
yet hurting each other happens too oft.
We hide behind walls, retreat in our minds,
feeling unwanted, diminished and scoffed.
I'm going downstairs to give you a kiss,
the door might be opened for future bliss.
