Dragon's Grace....Asean Sonnet As dragon's wing-spread shades the ground below, its fiery breath sets clouds and sky aglow, painting river's water red in one throw- on heaven's screen plays dragons' fire show. These creatures are benevolent, bestow fire to mankind, forging blades and plough. There have been times when dragons were our foe, man was afraid, took shelter and laid low when hearing their approach from mountain's snow. They came when lightning tore the air, brought woe as houses burned in frightening tableau. Those days are long since past, now dragons blow warm breath, bring comfort when it's cold, help grow small babies and weak plants; this grace we owe. |
